2020 Yonex Mid-Atlantic Classic @ Club28 part2
Photos that can say a thousand words. Part 2 of a very busy weekend where the days started as early as 6:30 am for some as players, officials and spectators alike traveled to newly renovated Club 28 in Philadelphia to participate in decades long tradition of badminton excellence.
As expected, the Open finals delivered hard smashes, fast moves and delicate net shots and unbelievable defense. Boston Open MD champs Rangga Rianto and Arya Aldiartama regained another title defeating junior powerhouse Kevin Shi (PA) /Presley Smith (MD) who made an early upset in the draw against #2 MD seed Marky Alcala and Aditya Firmansya.
Kristin Choi (NJ) made her debut win with partner Hanna Ramadini (NJ) in the WDA and earns their spot on the perpetual trophy and cash to take home.
Sanchita Pandey took him WSA gold and 2 silvers for the WDA with partner Christine Yang and XDA partner Sutichon Polgul (PA) MSA gold medalist Hardi Yuda Satria showed excellent form against challenger Adiyta Firmansyah
Tournament referee Beth Sopka briefly touched on the history of the Mid-Atlantic Classic and announced the future awardee of the Diane Cornell Outstanding Service Award.

With over 200 players, the adrenaline was running high and the shuttles were flying. The perpetual trophies await, for the next Mid-atlantic Classic, and hoping it would stay in Philly for good.
